To reinforce a sense of corporate cohesion, the CEO of Khawarizmi Holding Company and KIC President Dr. Assem Al Hajj invited all staff and faculty to a webinar, where he shared the direction of the company for these uncertain times.
“Changes are happening on many fronts,” stated the president. COVID-19 has changed our present lifestyle and will impact the future landscape. KIC faculty and staff coped with these changes and are continuously adjusting their views, routines, and practices to further adapt to the post-COVID-19 phase. For this, the president thanked everyone for their valuable contributions in adapting KIC core processes.
Education is the KIC core. Dr. Al Hajj noted that “KIC graduates face challenges of a volatile and uncertain world.” However, they are prepared, irrelevant of their major. Health students will save lives. IT students will save businesses and keep the processes running. Mass Communication students will play a massive role in providing people with information and leading masses through the crisis. Business students will figure out new opportunities and find better ways to run their processes.
KIC faculty and staff got also exposed to the organization’s short term and middle-term goals. Some of these included perfecting distance learning, implementing automations, finalizing digital readiness, preparing for the CAA audit, finding effective ways for community e-engagement, investing in virtual student recruitment, working on the availability of online degrees, and providing school students with taster online courses. The situation has sparked an unprecedented change, but KIC will be ready for the post- COVID-19 era.
