The Business Club for Sustainability Initiatives (BCSI) was soft-launched on 16th April 2021, with a commitment to the well-being of both economic and ecological systems, envisioning a thriving local business ecosystem that underpins the triple bottle line approach that sustains local businesses, the larger human economy, and the planet.
To do this, BCSI will take responsibility and educate its affiliates on sustainable business practices by engaging with neighboring companies, governmental organizations, and communities to promote a sustainable economy for future generations. The goal is to encourage sustainability as a way of life to reduce waste, water, and energy consumption, to lower the carbon footprint of KIC campus through social media campaigns, community services and outreach campaigns, and eco-events.
BCSI has embarked on its first venture, under the theme “Save Water”, with the launch of Sustainability Action Project (SAP), under Sustainable Campus Initiative (SCI), EAD, Abu Dhabi. This project will conclude by mid-June with a possibility of a brief extension.
BCSI is open to students of all majors with an interest in learning about sustainability and working on campus projects. The club is hosted by the Business Administration Department, under the guidance of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, KIC and the Head of the Department, Business Administration.
To join the club, contact Dr. Suja Pradeep, the faculty coordinator of BCSI, or Mehpara Abdul Wahid, BCSI President.
