As a sign of recognition, Environment Agency Abu Dhabi has issued certificates to four KIC Business Administration students for being a part of the Sustainability Campus Initiative challenge, a commitment to make change within their community.
Through the Sustainability Action Project (SAP) Ali Ebrahim Ebrahimi Almarzouqi, Khulood Dhawi Jumaa Mayoof Alharthi, Heba Abdelmonem Ahmed Mohamed Emam, and Faisal Mousa Mohamed Abdulla AlBlooshi among a total of 93 students from 10 different universities came together to find viable solutions for environmental challenges that are posed in the contemporary world. The initiative was launched in 2014 and expanded across the Emirates after a successful pilot test.
KIC students play a prominent role in learning and tackling sustainability topics. Earlier on five KIC students participated in a 21st Cycle of the annual inter-college Environmental Public Speaking Competition organized by Emirates Environmental Group at the Conference center, Knowledge Park, Dubai.
Faisal Mousa Mohamed Abdulla AlBlooshi, BBA, Jamal Khani Badshah Waskhan, BMLA, Bibi Sara Maram Khan, BMLA, Muna Ahmed Hussain Saleh Albreiki, BBA, and Mehpara Abdul Wahid BBA, addressed the question of technology as a solution to sustainability, covering the idea of how technological innovations in the Energy sector can bring exponential gains in all aspects of economic and social activities to achieve the overarching goal of carbon neutrality and hence limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius by simultaneously driving economic growth and restoring ecosystems.
