KIC Mass Communication faculty members demonstrated a distinguished presence during the 26th international scientific conference organized by the Faculty of Mass Communication at Cairo University themed as “Digital and Traditional Media: Paths to Integration and Competition,” by presenting several research papers.
The faculty members presented three research papers. The first research paper “The relationship of the content of news application notifications for smartphones to the consumption patterns of news content among users of news applications” was prepared by Dr. Mohamed Rashad, Head of the Department. The second research paper titled as “The Role of digital new networks in raising awareness about COVID-19 vaccine – An analytical and descriptive study of Al-Ittihad newspaper Instagram page, in the United Arab Emirates” was jointly prepared by Dr. Rafif Al-Faisal, Director of the Media Program, and Dr. Bayan AlFaqra, a Mass Communication department delegate. The third presented paper titled “The impact of social media on developing the skills of students enrolled in media colleges in the United Arab Emirates” was prepared by Dr. Saeed Hamed, Assistant Professor, KIC Mass Communication department.
Presented research papers have been positively received by the conference’s judging committees. The conference is one of the largest platforms for sharing studies and research papers on media in the Middle East. In line with COVID-19 precautions, the assembly was carried out in a virtual format.
