KIC IT department conducted a workshop that introduced the students Exploratory Data Analysis.
The workshop was led by Dr. Santosh Ray, Associate professor, Head of IT Department, and demonstrated the use of the RStudio tool to generate a statistical summary of data without using any coding. RStudio is a tool used to write and execute programs related to machine learning and other data-intensive tasks. The workshop covered the methods to generate central tendency, spread, and distribution of data. It also covered various graphics methods such as boxplot, probability distribution function, cumulative distribution function, Benford’s law, bar plot, mosaic plot, pairs plot, and other interactive graphs. The students also learned to generate correlation plots.
Twelve students attended the workshop and reported high levels of satisfaction in terms of learned concepts, workshop structure, and in-class engagement.
