KIC IT department conducted a workshop that introduced the students to the Android operating system.
The workshop was led by Mr. Samer Rihawi, KIC IT Lecturer, IT Department. He introduced the students to the widely used Android operating system and its usages in different devices such as Smart Devices, Tablets, and TV. In addition to that, the students learned to build Android apps using Android studio using Java Programming language as well as handling events generated by the app or by the android system as well as interacting with other applications. Then the students were given hands-on exercises on building different Android apps such as a simple calculator, getting the battery level on their devices, and retrieving their current location, and run these applications using the emulator provided with Android studio or their mobile devices.
Nineteen students attended the workshop and reported high levels of satisfaction in terms of learned concepts, workshop structure, and in-class engagement.
