What are you most curious about in life?
The notion of growth has always evoked curiosity in me. Being an Economist as well as a business faculty, this concept always remained in the backdrop of my thought process. Besides, growth is the only evidence of life. Check out the science pertaining to the study of life, i.e Biology. With growth comes change and though sometimes painful, especially in crises, but it only serves to strengthen and transform us. “Without continual growth and progress, such words like improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning”-Benjamin Franklin.
What are the failures that you most cherish?
As a co-founder of a wellness chain, and managing it for more than a decade, I had the opportunity to experience failures firsthand. Be it one of Marketing strategy or Investment decisions, these failures have profoundly enriched my professional and personal life as well.
If you could go back five years, what advice would you give your younger self?
Learn to manage uncertainties in life, and fear not the change which is anyway inevitable. We are hardwired to react with fear when faced with uncertainty. Successful people have the quality to override this innate response mechanism, and shift into rational thinking mode. The bottom-line is to start working on your emotional intelligence (EQ). This matters the most, rest will then follow.
What do you do outside of the work environment?
I love to explore my interests in nature, business, fashion, and love to workout. And of course, family commitments also take a share of my limited daily hours.
What is the most courageous thing you have done in your life?
When I look back, the decision to shift my professional career to co-found a successful brand turned out to be one of the most courageous decisions in my life. This leap offered the opportunity to gain deeper insights into the actual working of the business environment, which was earlier experienced only in theories and books.
What is your favourite film/series and why?
There are numerous feel-good films, which have imprinted in my memory. However, if you ask me to select one, it would be “JoJo Rabbit”. It was a masterful balance of comedy and drama. The bold simplicity of the theme touched me in a way no movie has before. charge of the Rohirrim is something that every movie lover must see. A truly epic and awe-inspiring film.
