What are you most curious about in life?
One of the things that keeps me curious and impressed is how effectively the United Arab Emirates manages harmonious coexistence of over 200 nationalities. On a smaller scale, I guess it’s skydiving.
What are the failures that you most cherish?
I would stick to an issue related to money lending. It’s not that I don’t help people in need anymore, but the thing is that I learned the importance of setting limits.
If you could go back five years, what advice would you give your younger self?
It would boil down to “Save your boat before you let somebody in.” In other words, I would have told the younger me to prioritize myself above anything else.
What do you do outside of the work environment?
Mainly it’s spending time with my child at home or by going out. Other than that I love reading and volunteer for charitable events when possible.
What is the most courageous thing you have done in your life?
This one is a bit tricky. Once I was a supervisor for 80 Arabic speaking fresher students on a full-day field trip to Dubai. Considering that I knew very little or no Arabic language, I am still wondering how I pulled it off. What a day!!
If you could change one thing at KIC what would it be and why?
This one is a bit tricky as it applies universally….. “Surviving” to being “Conquering.”
I know that work and life, in general, can sometimes be overwhelming, but we have to learn to enjoy each second of it.
What is your favourite film/series and why?
FRIENDS. Hands down. It’s not only fun but we can relate to some of its characters. Personally, I relate to Monica and Rachel. But the main appeal of the series is that it teaches us to enjoy the little things through caring and sharing.
